Alumni notebook: How Carson City area athletes are doing in college

BASKETBALL

Rafe King, Carson, Columbia College: Has appeared in all 24 games and is averaging 12.1 points and shooting 42 percent from 3-point range. Averaging 0.7 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Matt Nolan, Carson, Cabrillo College: Has appeared in all 23 games with one start. Averaging 2.3 points per game and 0.7 assists per game.

Haley Ridgely, Carson, Hollins University: In 12 games, she’s averaging 1.2 points and 1.3 rebounds a contest.

Savannah Smith, Carson, Sierra College: In 25 games, she’s averaging 2.9 points, 1.1 assists and 1.5 rebounds.

BASEBALL

Jace Zampirro, Carson, Feather River: No action last week. Has a 4.50 ERA thus far in 2 innings of work.

Adam Whitt, Carson, UNR: Season starts Friday at Abilene Christian.

Luke Maher, Carson, Colorado Northwestern: No stats posted on Scenic West website yet.

Brock Pradere, Carson, Ohlone College: Has moved from 3B to outfield, and is hitting .296 with three RBI after two weeks.

Rory Petersen, William Jessup: In 7 games, Petersen is hitting .345 with a homer.

Charlie Banfield, Carson, Yuba College: In 4 games, he has allowed four earned runs in 5.1 innings en route to a 6.75 ERA.

Jake Koch, Dayton, E. Nazarene: Season hasn’t started yet.

Conner Oliver, Dayton, Minot State: Season hasn’t started yet.

Nick Selmi, Dayton, Mendocino College: In 3 games, he’s pitched 7.2 innings and allowed 11 hits for an 8.22 ERA.

Nick Domitrovich, Carson, Lassen College: Is hitting .294 with an RBI after two weeks of action.

Chance Quilling, Carson, Sierra College: Went 0-for-4 last week and is hitting .182 after two weeks.

SOFTBALL

Christa McGahuey, Carson, University of Detroit-Mercy: Season starts Friday in Florida.

Danielle Morrow, Carson, Doane College: Season starts Friday.

Kenzie Cole, Dayton, Montana: Cole went 0-for-2 last week and has a 14.00 ERA.

Lisa Yamamoto, Carson, Linfield College: Season starts Feb. 19.

Jen Purcell, Carson, UNR: Started all five games last week and hit .250 with an RBI.

SWIMMING

Abbi Pittman, Carson, Whittier: Finished eighth in the 100 breastroke against Occidental last week.
