Two Republican assemblymen say they’ve mended fences after getting into an altercation earlier this week in the legislative building.
A joint statement issued by the Republican Assembly Caucus says Assemblyman John Moore and Assembly Majority Leader Paul Anderson regret the Tuesday incident, but have talked it out and look forward to working together in the future.
Moore said Anderson called him into a meeting in a stairwell during a committee recess and refused to let him leave.
Moore says he eventually opened the door, and Anderson was pinned against the wall.
Moore had just cast a deciding vote against Republican-backed SB 119, which extends school construction bond rollovers and suspended prevailing wage requirements.
Legislative Counsel Bureau Director Rick Combs said Moore declined to file a formal complaint with legislative police.
