Ania Serrano, a native of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, and Gary Borst, a native of Northern Nevada, joined the team at Coldwell Banker Select Real Estate in Carson City.

Ania Serrano came to the United States when she was 12 years old. She established residency in 2007 and earned her GED. She enrolled in college and is currently working toward a Master of Business Administration.

Area coffee shop helps Food for Thought

Dutch Bros. Coffee’s company-wide food drive held on Feb. 14 collected 487,966 pounds of nonperishable items for food banks across seven states, a 109 percent increase over last year’s total.

Dutch Bros. of Carson City and its customers brought a total of 774 pounds of food for Food for Thought.

All 240 Dutch Bros. Coffee locations took part in serving their local communities that day by offering customers a drink special in exchange for nonperishable food donation.

To raise canned goods, Dutch Bros. Carson City offered customers a medium drink for $1 in exchange for a contribution of three non-perishable food items, and a $1 large drink with the donation of five non-perishable food items.

Real estate appraisal firm splitting offices

Johnson-Perkins and Associates, Inc. split its Reno and Lake Tahoe offices; Johnson Valuation Group, Ltd. will be a new real estate appraisal firm based in Lake Tahoe serving both Nevada and California.

Johnson-Perkins and Associates, Inc., established in 1976, is a real estate appraisal and consulting firm in Northern Nevada. Johnson Valuation Group will build on the foundation of JPA’s 39 years of experience with a focus on leveraging technological advances in the field for the benefit of existing and future clients.

The new company will continue to provide appraisal and consulting services for the region’s commercial and residential real estate markets, providing valuation expertise to municipalities, local and state public entities, public utilities, banks, law firms, accountants, and private property owners.

Johnson Valuation Group has purchased a new office in Zephyr Cove, at 124 McFaul Way. A second Johnson Valuation Group office is planned for Reno.
