Those interested in saving athletics at Western Nevada College are welcome to attend a meeting to be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 10 in room 2149 of the Legislative Building.

Helaine Jesse Morres, a former WNC vice president who spearheaded the effort to establish athletics at the school in 2002, has organized the meeting. It was recently announced the WNC baseball and softball programs would be disbanded after the 2016 season, but a fundraising effort is now underway to save the programs.

“We encourage people to attend and let us know how they can help Wildcat athletics,” Morres said. “Our group looks forward to working with the college on this important matter.

“Game on!”
