Leland Leroy Paulsen, life long resident of Nevada passed away in Reno on March 7, 2015. Leland was born in Preston, Nevada on May 9,1925 to Andrew and Leah Paulsen. He attended schools in Sparks, NV. Leland was in the US

Army during WWII. His dream from childhood was to be a pianist. His parents sacrificed so that he would be able to take lessons, but as a young person there was a gun accident and he shot his thumb off, needless to say his piano playing dream was gone. He would still play the guitar and sing on occasion. He came to Fallon in the late 40’s, after getting out of the service. He helped out on a couple of ranches before buying his own, and he with his wife and later his children spent the rest of their life’s raising Holstein heifers and farming the land. When he retired he started buying and restoring old tractors. He ended up having to build a building to house them all. He was pretty proud of his tractors and would give anyone that showed up a tour of the tractor shed. His wife, Wilma preceded him in death, as did his parents and two sisters, Janice Capucci and Louise Madsen. Leland is survived by his children; Jeff and Susan Paulsen; Steve and Barb Paulsen; Kristen and Randy Evans; Denise and Bob Turnbow; brother and sister in-law, Marion and Betty Paulsen; brother, Paul Paulsen; in-laws; Jim and Justine McCuller; Jim and Marlene Flowers; Carlos and Elsie Schultz; grandchildren; Lisa and Stan Christy; John and Nikki Evans; Shaun Richardson; Kimberly and Matt Boni; Joshua Paulsen and Phillip Paulsen; Matt and Laura Howard; 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
