RENO (AP) — The Nevada Wolf Pack could have a new basketball coach before the end of the week.
School officials say they hope to have an agreement in place when they go before the Nevada Board of Regents in Las Vegas on Thursday to ask for approval of a new contract.
Athletic Director Doug Knuth fired Coach David Carter just hours after Nevada lost to UNLV in the opening round of the Mountain West Conference tournament two weeks ago.
Nevada spokesman Chad Hartley says they have not yet reached a final decision but are nearing the final stages of a national search and expect to be able to present their pick to the regents on Thursday.
