Olga Simmers, 35 year resident of Carson City, passed away March 19, 2015 after a brief illness. Olga was born in 1925 to parents, Joseph and Mary Pacolt, in Johnstown, PA. She married Ed Simmers in 1949 and the couple lived in Southern CA for 31 years before moving to Carson City. Olga enjoyed gardening, reading, bowling, line dancing, Pool, Tai Chi, and bingo. She also enjoyed video poker and playing cards. She looked forward to activities at the Carson City Senior Center and made regular donations to the Thrift Store. Olga is preceded in death by her husband, Ed, and their son, Doug. She is survived by her sister Mary of Pittsburgh, PA, her daughter, Cindy, of Carson City, and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the charity, AutismSpeaks, P. O. Box 26401, Lehigh Valley, PA, 18002-6401 or AutismSpeaks.org.
