Trenches for the stone wall in front of Capitol Square and excavations for the water pipes for the grounds were being dug yesterday. The old stage platform in front of the Ormsby House was taken up to allow the lowering of the street grade.

Lucky Baldwin seems to be constantly getting into some trouble with the fair sex. About a year ago he was shot at on the street by a woman whom he had trifled with, and now Lou Perkins, daughter of a former tenant of E.J. Baldwin, has instituted a breach-of-promise suit for $500,000 against him.
