The following information applies to the period of May 11-17.
Due to roadway sealing, there will be road closures throughout the entire week east of downtown in the general vicinity of William Street to the north, Saliman Road to the east, Fifth Street to the south, and Carson Street to the west, as well as along Deer Run Road and Pinon Hills Drive and the neighborhood directly west of Fremont Elementary School. During this time there will be flaggers directing traffic along detours. On Monday, May 11, E. Fifth Street will be down to a single lane between Fairview Drive and Carson River Road; 20-minute delays are expected at this location, and use of an alternate route is suggested.
On Wednesday, May 13, Robinson Street will be closed from 4 to 5:30 p.m. between Carson and Stewart streets. Detours will be in place and all transit routes will be re-routed around the closure.
On Monday, May 11, and Tuesday, May 12, the outside northbound lane on Fairview Drive will be closed from between Steamboat and Sweetwater drives from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.
Beginning Monday, May 11, through Wednesday, May 13, the inside northbound lane on Roop Street will be closed during daytime hours just south of Corbett Street.
Beginning Monday, May 11, through Wednesday, May 13, there will be lane shifts at times with minor delays expected at Roop Street just south of Winnie Lane and Washington Street just east of Stewart Street.
Due to utility work, there will be activity in the shoulder on the following roadways with no expected delays:
On Monday, the north side of Como Street between Carson Meadows Drive and Saliman Road
On Tuesday, the west side of Rawhide Way between Goldfield Avenue and Telegraph Street.
On Wednesday, the west side of Nevada Street just south of Fifth Street.
On Thursday, the north side of Fifth Street at Elaine Street.
The following closures are expected to occur due to events.
Third Street between Carson Street and Curry Street from 2 to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 15.
Musser Street between Pratt and Harbin avenues from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16.
