Continuing in the vein of placing public art in public places such as that placed along the I-580 corridor as part of the freeway construction, the Carson City Chamber has commissioned local metal artist Robbie St Clair to create a piece of uniquely Nevada art to be unveiled and dedicated at noon Saturday in front of the Chamber building, at 1900 S. Carson St., in the Nevada State Railroad Museum complex.

The original art, made of polished metal, depicts two six-foot Mustangs at play. Mustangs are an integral part of the Northern Nevada landscape and many visitors come to this region to view the Mustangs found in the east end of the city, along Highway 50 and on the way to Virginia City.

The dedication of the new art piece will be held as part of the Memorial Day celebration of the unveiling of the Glenbrook Steam Engine at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. Refreshments will be served. St Clair will be on hand to meet guests and to showcase his other art works now on display in the Chamber’s Artisan Showcase.
