A 13-year-old Carson City girl who was hit by a pickup truck while crossing South Carson Street in a marked crosswalk remained in serious condition at a Reno hospital.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper David Gibson said Wednesday the driver of the pickup, 22-year-old Logan Olds of Carson City, stopped immediately after Tuesday’s accident and has been cooperating with investigators.

He said neither alcohol nor drugs is believed to have played a role in the accident.

Gibson said Olds was headed northbound on Carson Street in a sliver 2003 Chevrolet Silverado just after 3 p.m. when he changed lanes to get around a tow vehicle that had stopped for the pedestrian in the crosswalk. Gibson said the girl was being treated for serious head injuries Wednesday at Renown Regional Medical Center.
