Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Mrs. Carole Jean Larson of Carson City, NV, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the age of 81. Carole was born to parents Claus and Margaret (Rieck) Boetel on April 14th, 1934 in Iroquois, SD. She was the oldest of 6 siblings and attended Yale High School. On October 31st, 1954, in Yale, SD, she married her love, Anton (Tony) Larson. The couple had 2 children and in 1968 they moved their family to Wyoming, then Nevada and eventually settled in Carson City. She worked for the State Industrial Insurance System (SIIS) for 25 years and retired in 1999. After she and Tony both retired, they spent many years traveling in their RV, camping with their Good Sam friends, and socializing with the wonderful people of the Carson City Elks Lodge. Her passion was playing with her great-grandchildren. Carole is survived by her husband, Tony Larson; sister, Betty Foos; brothers Don Boetel & Bruce Boetel; Aunt Ormalyn; son, Craig Larson; daughter, Lori Goulart; granddaughters Ashley Dale, Kimber Olson, & Kayla Firestone; grandson; Tony Larson; and great-grandchildren, Kalina Dillinger, Julian Dale, Spencer Dale, & Tristan Firestone. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claus and Margaret; sisters, Phyllis Boetel and Margo Love. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, May 20th at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at 4:00pm. She will be cremated and Tony will be taking her South Dakota to be buried with her family. If you would like to attend the burial, please contact Tony for more information. The family is grateful for the condolences and request, in lieu of flowers, living plants for a memorial garden or donations to be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church and School. Family and friends are welcome to join us immediately following services, at the Carson City Elks Lodge (515 N. Nevada St) for refreshments.
