Larry D. Hough

On October 22, 2015, an amazing and loving husband, perfect father, greatest grandfather, and friend to everyone, Larry D. Hough, passed away, surrounded by his family, at his home. Larry was born in Riverside, CA to Holly and Marge Hough, December 29, 1937. When he was two years old, Larry and his family moved to Silver Peak, NV. After that, they moved to Tonopah, NV, where he continued to live, and attend school. During his high school years, Larry was on the 1954 State Basketball Championship Team. Upon

graduation, he began his career with the Nevada Highway Department. On June 29, 1958, he married the love of his life, Carol (Jeanne) Brown. Larry has been in Carson City since 1963. Larry was an Assistant District Construction Engineer for the Nevada Department of Transportation, until he retired in 1987. After retirement, he and his fellow workers began a consulting firm, DCS, where he continued doing what he loved, which was traveling throughout the State of Nevada, on various highway jobs. Larry is survived by his wife, Jeanne, of 57 years, and his three children, Larry (Tammy), Lesley (Kent), and Glenn (Rhonda). His adored his grandchildren: Tyler, Ali (Karl), Amanda, Molly, Mallory, Tiffany (Michael), and Ashley. He is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn and Nancy, and his brother Holly, along with several nieces and nephews. He also had two great-grandsons, Austin and Cole, and one on the way. Larry is also survived by the many friends that loved and cared about him. Larry loved his four-legged family more than life too. Larry was the most wonderful, kind, loving husband, a perfect father, an amazing grandfather, and a treasured friend to many. He was the happiest when he was surrounded by his family. He loved to cook for his friends and family, and for many years, competed in dutch oven cook-offs. He enjoyed wood working in his shop, metal detecting, and working in his yard. There are no words to describe how he will be missed and loved by all who knew and loved him. There will be a Celebration of Life, held at his home, in Carson City on November 7, 2015, at 1:00 pm.
