RENO — The Nevada Rural Housing Authority honored local Northern Nevada lenders for a job well done in the past year with a luncheon Tuesday afternoon.
The NRHA was joined with housing and mortgage companies from across Northern Nevada in a superhero themed event at The Grove in Reno to honor more than 100 local lenders. The NRHA provided a light lunch and presentation for the lenders, complete with a photo booth so the lenders could bring out their inner crime fighter with superhero props.
“The superhero theme is the most fitting thing this organization can do right now because they are truly superheroes,” said Ken Brooks, a representative for Congressman Mark Amodei at the luncheon.
Along with Brooks, representatives from Dean Heller and Harry Reid’s offices were also present. The representatives from the Congressional delegates presented a certificate of appreciation to the lenders for their good work.
Before the awards, Bruce Breslow, former mayor of Sparks spoke to the audience and discussed the housing market and the spurt of growth Nevada is on the verge of.
Representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the NRHA and the Nevada Housing Division all presented awards to more than a dozen local lenders, all superhero themed, including biggest loan and most loan volume. Arvizio credited many of the lenders as helping people not only buy homes but how to be smart home buyers.
“We would like to recognize everyone here for being the boots on the ground,” said Diane Arvizio, director of home buyer services for NRHA. “You are the touch points to these home buyers.
“We appreciate what you are doing to build the great state of Nevada and helping people put down roots here,” said Sarah Adler of the USDA. “We appreciate the great things you do.”
