Feb. 28, 1967 - Oct. 30, 2015
After a battle with colon cancer for almost two years, Richard (Rick) Lee Springer passed away peacefully, surrounded by his mother and sister, in his home on October 30, 2015 in Dayton, Nevada at the age of 48. Rick was born on February 28, 1967 in San Jose, California to father Dwight “Ike” Richard Springer and mother Nancy Lynn Springer. He grew up in a loving family with one sister, April Lynn Springer. A United States Navy veteran and avid fisherman, Rick enjoyed spending time anywhere he could find relaxation and serenity; which was almost always near the water. He took pride and great pleasure in working on cars and painting houses. His family, friends and animals were very important to him. When diagnosed with cancer, Rick was dedicated in his will to fight his illness. He remained a brave, iron-willed man, even throughout his final months. Rick is survived by his mother, Nancy Springer; grandmother, Flora Horne; sister, April Springer and nephew, Michael Metoyer and is predeceased by his father, Dwight “Ike” Springer (September 29, 2014) and grandfather, Maurice Horne (August 26, 2002).
