Carson High School hosting craft fair Friday, Saturday

The 21st annual Carson High School’s Holiday Craft Fair is scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

More than 125 vendors, selling jewelry, ornaments, pottery, food and more will be at the high school from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Santa also will be making an appearance and the culinary arts students will be serving food.

Funds raised at the event are awarded as stipends to the school’s clubs and organizations who assist crafters in setting up their booths and loading goods in and out. Scholarships also are possible for students who assist with their parents at the fair, but they must complete a scholarship application. In previous years, 22 seniors have been awarded $500 scholarships from the fair.

Entry to the fair Friday night is $2, which includes a raffle ticket and re-entry for Saturday. The entry fee for Saturday is $1.50 or $1 with a canned food donation. Children and students are free.

All food donations will go to FISH. The Craft Fair is put on by the Carson High Holiday Craft Fair Association, which is headed by Cathy Barbie and assisted by Colleen Krahn and Ann Britt.

This year’s event will feature jewelry, seasonal wood items, character hats, western spur art, pottery, scrapbooks and photo albums, quilts, handmade cards and ornaments, photography, birdhouses, lariat rope baskets, skin care products, purses and totes, metal sculptures, knitted and crocheted items, leather goods, wreaths, stoneware animal sculptures, pet coats and dog toys, lavender products, fruits and nuts, kettlecorn and toffee, jerky and BBQ seasonings, olive oils and sauces, baked goods, fudge and jams/jellies, aprons and scarves, even super hero capes.
