The graduation of POST Academy Class 51/52 took place Thursday at the Stewart Facility in Carson City.
Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison was the keynote speaker; other speakers included POST Executive Director Michael Sherlock and POST Academy Commander Orlando Guerra.

The Category I POST Academy is 620 hours of intensive peace officer training over 16 weeks. The training includes 65 hours of law and legal procedures, more than 137 hours of patrol operations and investigation, more than 257 hours of performance skills, more than 57 hours of functions of a peace officer and more than 102 hours of course administration and exams.
