Nevada gasoline prices at the pump fell 4 cents a gallon in the past week to $2.90, while Carson City prices remained well below that level.
Those were the results reported Monday by GasBuddy.com, a website that monitors the cost of fuel at the local, state and national levels. Nationally, the average cost for gasoline blipped up a half cent per gallon to $2.29.
In Carson City, the two dozen outlets surveyed on Monday were charging from $2.43 per gallon on the low end to $2.75 at the highest level reported.
The state and national surveys, meanwhile, were completed Sunday and reported on Monday. The state survey involved 1,130 outlets. GasBuddy.com said gasoline pridces in Nevada during the past week were about 57 cents per gallon lower than they were a year earlier.
Nationally, said Gregg Laskoski, GasBuddy petroleum analyst, the pace of gas price declines has been interrupted by may resume.
“While the rate of decline has slowed,” he said, “we still expect the overall decline to continue this week with a nominal decrease in retail gasoline in most parts of the country.”
