Meetings for trails users who want to provide input on Carson City’s trail network are scheduled later this month at the Carson City Community Center.
Anyone interested in offering opinions at a trails workshop may attend either on Saturday, Oct. 17, in the Sierra Room at the center, or on Tuesday, Oct. 27, in the center’s Bonanza Room. The center is at 851 E. William St. The Oct. 17 meeting in the Sierra Room runs that third Saturday of this month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The Oct. 27 meeting on the last Tuesday of the month is from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
“Eagle Valley Trail Committee invites all trail users,” the committee said in a release provided by Mark Kimbrough. Such trail users are identified as bikers, runners, equestrians, dog walkers, other walkers and mountain bikers.
“This will allow a community-driven plan that focuses on the appropriate priorities with the land managers for implementation,” according to the release. “Another primary goal is to develop a trail brochure of sustainable, public and/or legal trails for all users in Eagle Valley. Trailhead improvements and amenities comments will also be used to develop priorities with appropriate agencies.”
Those who can’t attend either workshop were encouraged to take an online survey on the matter at www.CarsonCityTrails.org.
