Students in Amy Ghilieri’s history class at Western Nevada College observe a national moment of silence for Umpqua Community College on Thursday. The national moment of silence was suggested by the American Association of Community Colleges to show solidarity and support for the Roseburg college, where a gunman killed nine people and injured nine others on Oct. 1.
