Carson City health inspections

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Sept. 29. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Schat’s Bakery, Cake Shop, 1212 S. Stewart St., scored 100 points.

Schat’s Bakery, bakery, 1212 S. Stewart St., scored 96 points. Cloths and trash were piled in containers of grain and other food storage bins. Dust and food debris were found on shelves with canned goods. Refrigerator doors, whose handles needed to be cleaned, were coated in cake batter. There was a leak in refrigeration unit condenser piping that empties into a utility sink.

Schat’s Bakery, restaurant, 1212 S. Stewart St., scored 91 points. Cheese, at 57 degrees, was stored in unapproved containers. The hand sink by the deli was leaking.
