Nevada Appeal at 150: Aug. 15, 1974: Ground-breaking of Stateline casinos

Less than three hours after U.S. District Court Judge Bruce Thompson ruled in favor of the developers of two Stateline hotel casinos, earth movers and bulldozers were at the construction sites. The proposed Hotel Oliver, to be built by Oliver Kahle, will be in foreground where equipment is shown, and the Tahoe Palace to be built by Ted Jennings will be located across the street in area where other equipment is shown. An elated Jennings and Kahle and their families treated well-wishers who arrived at the sites to champagne as they watched crews clear the land.
