Carson High sophomores painting town blue for Howell

The Carson High School sophomore class is raising money by painting the town blue.

In order to honor fallen Carson City Deputy Carl Howell, who was killed in August while on duty, the CHS sophomores are painting blue stripes in front of houses for a $5 donation. The blue stripe is a law enforcement symbol commemorating fallen officers.

Half of the money will go to the sophomore class and the second half will go to support the Nevada Honor Guard to try to help send it to Washington D.C. to see Howell’s name put onto the national fallen officer memorial.

The students will be working on this project every weekend in October. To schedule an appointment for the students to come paint a blue line, call the Carson City Sheriff’s Office at 775-283-7897 and give your name, address, contact number and what date and time you’re available on a Saturday or Sunday. Someone must be home at the time scheduled and money will be collected at that time.
