Moore & Parker will this week commence the enlargement of the theater building. The propose to enlarge it by an addition to the rear of the present building of 28 by 40 feet. The stage of the theater will be lowered and seats to removed to form a dancing hall. Mr. John Piper will take an interest in the new theater and hall.

Kirk Kane and C.R Burke, two inmates of the penitentiary, who were paroled at the last meeting of the board of parole, were let loose this morning and departed Renoward. Kane is sort of a character. He is a snake charmer and handles reptiles like he was raised with them.

‘Red Maria’ Opens Campaign Against Carson Beardless. Red Maria is on the street and doing business. The Nevada Day committee’s cage for the beardless made a trail run through the city Wednesday night, picking up a few citizens who had shaved too recently.

The Carson City Active 20-30 Club will be holding its annual beard contest in Carson City on Nevada Day Oct. 31. Project chairman Ed Stokke has announced that he prizes will be for the blackest, the reddest, the longest and the best over-all beard.
