The capital will soon have another auto dealership, further expanding what is already Carson City’s largest sales tax generator.

Carson Car Center Properties, a newly formed company, has purchased the old Toyota dealership building on south Carson Street.

The sale was recorded Monday at the Carson City Recorder’s Office, just five days after the company filed its organizational papers with the Nevada Secretary of State’s office.

The purchase price for the complex of buildings at Carson Street and Koontz Lane was $1.9 million.

Brett Coleman and Arne Hoel of Reno are listed as the two primary managers of the company along with Rob Winkel.

Winkel is a member of a longtime Reno auto dealership family but said his function in this venture is primarily as the company lawyer.

The property was leased for a long time to Dick Campagni who operated his Toyota dealership there until he moved to a new dealership complex a half-mile north in March 2010. The property at 3659 S. Carson Street has been vacant since.

The new company purchased the two-parcel property from the Michelle R. Hitchcock 2000 Family Trust. The Hitchcock family had owned the property since 1984.

Hoel, who Winkel said is spokesman for the project, could not be reached for details on the group’s plans.
