The Carson City employees’ health fair provided local government workers with options available from 55 vendors Wednesday at the Carson City Community Center.

The event is part of benefits through the city Human Resources Department under city government’s contract regarding health coverage by Prominence of Reno, according to Melanie Bruketta, director of human resources. The said people have told her department it’s one of the best such coevents available.

Vendors aren’t charged for tables and space in the center gymnasium, she said, but do provide raffle gifts. The event in the gymnasium was accompanied with the opportunity to get flue shots in the nearby Sierra Room on the center’s west side. Employees were able to drop in throughout the day and were plentiful during the lunch hour, though the fair ran from 9 a.m. until near mid-afternoon.
