Carson City road report for Oct. 26-Nov. 1

The following information applies to the period of Oct. 26-Nov. 1.

Due to the Nevada Day Parade and other events, Carson Street will be closed on Saturday, Oct. 31, from approximately 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Numerous side streets connected to Carson Street will be impacted as well. Detours will be signed.

Division Street will be closed between Fifth and King streets during daytime hours weekdays due to road construction. Detours will be signed.

Utility work will continue during daytime hours Monday through Thursday, with flagger controlled traffic at the following locations:

Mountain Street between Fleischmann Way and Long Street

Long Street between Mountain and Division streets

Division Street between John and Long streets; local access only

Sierra Circle, Hillside Way, Miller Way, Pine View Way, and Lane Circle

There will be intermittent lane closures on Oregon Street with flagger controlled traffic between Roop Street and Wright Way on weekdays, as work continues at the NDOT maintenance yard.

The intersection of Cochise and Overland streets, as well as Cochise Street between Overland Street and Roventini Way, will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Detours will be signed.

Utility work will continue Monday through Thursday at the following locations:

Intermittent lane closures with flaggers on Washington Street between Ormsby Boulevard and Mountain Street

Intermittent lane closures on Race Track Road between Bigelow and Schulz drives, with flagger controlled traffic on weekdays

The north shoulder of Snyder Avenue between Oak Street and Bigelow Drive

There will be a lane closure on Hillview Drive between Clearview Drive and Appion Way from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

The Nevada Department of Transportation will continue construction of drainage improvements on U.S. Highway 50 West between the two truck ramps (just west of U.S. 395 to Sierra Highlands Drive). There will be lane closures weekdays, but the roadway will remain open to traffic in both directions.

Clear Creek Avenue remains closed to through traffic between Lynette Lane and Center Drive due to utility work. Detours are signed and the JAC bus stop on Clear Creek Avenue is temporarily relocated near the intersection of Frontage Road and Clear Creek Avenue.

Work on the construction of the Carson City Freeway continues. Drives are advised to use caution in the areas around the construction site, particularly along S. Carson Street.
