On Nov. 2, Mary Laub will begin a 60-day detail as Carson City Bureau of Land Management Associate District Manager. She’s currently the BLM Nevada State Budget Officer overseeing the financial operations of the state’s $100 million budget.
Laub’s previous experience included Eldorado National Forest Budget Officer in Placerville, Calif., and Director of Resource Management, George C. Marshall Center for European Security Studies in Garmisch, Germany, a security training center for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics states for which she oversaw budget, program, manpower and disbursing functions.
Laub has held financial management positions in eight agencies stateside and overseas to include Army and Air Force appropriated fund and non-appropriated fund, General Services Administration, Department of Defense Dependent Schools, Defense Security Cooperation Agency, U.S. Forest Service and BLM.
In her previous career, Laub was an Air Force pilot, C-141 Aircraft Commander and T-37 instructor pilot. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a B.A. in physics.
Laub and her husband John live in Minden. They have one daughter who’s attending Boise State. Her hobbies include boating, hiking and skiing.
