Mrs. Toodles in China. It is common for children to present a nice coffin, adorned with paper flowers, at the Chinese New Year. If the parents are aged, it is looked upon as a most touching evidence of regard and forethought for their last and final couch.

From San Jose, always on tap,” and “Stone Market, opposite Arlington House — The undersigned conducts a first-class meat market where can be had all times the choicest cuts of beef, pork, mutton, veal, lamb, sausage, etc., orders filled with dispatch. Otto T. Schulz.”

Hancock’s last night before hanging. Hancock sent for Rev. Darnelle. When the minister arrived he was closeted with the condemned. Hancock was baptized and administered the sacred benediction. Hancock still claims he is innocent. He visited with Warden Considine who asked if he knew of any other implicated in the terrible murder. Gov. Sparks also visited and had a talk with the condemned man. No relatives have offered to intercede in his troubles.

Chester Muller obituary. He was born in Carson City on Nov. 14, 1888, the youngest of 10 children. He conducted a furniture store on south Carson Street and conducted a plumbing business and was an active member of Warren Engine company. He leaves three sisters, Mrs. Fred Frisbie of Carson City, Mrs. Louis Rayan of Santa Monica and Mrs. Ernest Mayo of Tuolune.

Photo caption. The Arlington Hotel extends from Carson street west along Washington Street, showing the entrance to the “hotel” portion midway down the building. Owners will receive notice shortly giving them 48 hours to start razing the structure within a period of 90 days to completion, or the city will raze it and charge the owners a lien against the property.
