Fatal accident occurs on Highway 88

One man was killed and another man was critically injured in a rollover accident in Gardnerville at Highway 88 near Kimmerling Road south of Minden Saturday morning, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported.

NHP responded to the scene shortly before 9:30 a.m. It reported a Honda CRV swerved off to the right side of the road for an unknown reason and when the driver tried to return to the road, the vehicle rolled over.

One man was careflighted to Reno’s Renown Hospital with serious injuries and another man was taken by ambulance to Renown Hospital, NHP reported.

The man who was careflighted died at the hospital while the other man was in critical condition as of Saturday afternoon, NHP reported.

NHP reported its still investigating if the men were wearing their seat belts and it’s unknown if the driver was under the influence. No other information was available as of Saturday afternoon.
