Quite an excitement was caused among our local astronomers yesterday by a number of sun dogs collected about the sun. Furlong made an attempt to impound them without success.

The number of coyote and wildcat scalps turned into Sheriff Lamb last month shows a considerable decrease over previous months since the bounty on coyotes was increased. A total of 335 coyote and 108 wildcat scalps were turned in during the month and destroyed. (Humboldt Star)
