Dick Campagni’s Capital Ford is expanding and getting a new look.

The car dealership is renovating its sales space after completing a makeover of its service and parts operation.

“We’ll have a new customer lounge, new offices, new sales tower, an outside showroom, new car delivery,” said Dick Campagni, owner. “Everything that doesn’t have to do with service, we did that before. It will make the whole process more efficient.”

The outside showroom is the first of its kind for Campagni Auto Group, which also includes the Carson City Toyota, Scion and Hyundai dealerships.

Berger Hannafin Architecture and Miles Construction, both of Carson City, are the project architect and contractor.

The roof in front of the South Carson Street building is being expanded to create an open air showroom for eight vehicles as well as a new car delivery area to the side.

“My wife Mary and I came up with the idea,” said Campagni. “It utilizes space well and is not taking away from the other showroom area.”

The customer waiting lounge off the inside showroom will feature a fireplace and stadium seating, similar to the customer area in Campagni’s Carson City Toyota down the street, which was built seven years ago.

The Capital Ford remodel will enlarge the dealership’s finance and insurance offices and include new carpeting, flooring, computers and energy-efficient features such as fixtures using LED lights.

“It will be a wonderful place for customers to come when they’re looking for and buying a new vehicle,” Campagni said. “And it’s a better environment for my employees.”

Capital Ford opened in 1999 and employs 100 people.

“I’ve always had a great partnership with the city ever since I got here,” said Campagni, who routinely donates to local organizations such as Carson City Little League and sponsors events including the Western Nevada College Golf Classic. “My wife Mary and I believe in tithing and giving back to a city that’s been good to you.”

The dealership is open throughout the remodel, but Campagni plans to hold a grand opening in June when construction is complete.

Capital Ford is located at 3660 S. Carson St. and is open seven days week.
