The Retired Seniors Volunteer Program would like to continue the tradition of hosting the fireworks show for Independence Day on July 4 for the 24th year, but will need help from the community to do so.
“RSVP depends solely on contributions to its Fireworks Fund to pay for the beautiful patriotic pyrotechnic display that everyone enjoys at our 4th of July Celebration,” RSVP Exeuctive Director Susan Haas said. “Individual donations are needed and sponsorships are available. This is a great opportunity to support the effort to continue the fireworks in Carson City. My concern is that we will have to cancel the fireworks due to lack of funds. Right now we have received just a few donations and the deadline for submitting the deposit is looming. The fireworks show is our gift to Carson City. If you view the show each year and want to see the program continue, please support RSVP by making a donation.”
RSVP’s mission is to help frail, homebound and low income seniors remain independent by providing high quality programs which allow them to stay in their own homes with dignity. Additionally, RSVP coordinates a volunteer network of seniors who use their skills and talents to provide support to community agencies through service.
