Terry Thomas and Jim Zewan combined for a net 55 to win Silver Oak Golf Club’s Senior Men’s Club event held at Genoa Lakes on April 12.
Ray Moore and Rudy Hammond shot 57, while Tona Smith and Steve Alcalay came in at 59. Barry Cernoch and Robert Vannort tied for fourth at 62 along with Dave Marlow and Mike Parapid, John Scoville and Philip Evich, and Jim Barnett and Ronald Waicul,
Vern Payette was closest to the hole on No. 12.
• Jim Sapien shot a net 67 to win Flight 1 at Silver Oak’s Monthly Masters event recently. John Mayer and Paul Jorgenson tied for second with 69s and Benjamin Gelbaum was fourth with a 70. Adam Koehm, Kevin Johnson and Tim Hines tied for fifth with 71s. Mike Parapid and Vern Payette tied for first with 71s. Shawn Akers was third with a 72, while Jay Wiggins was fourth with a 73. Saen had the low gross round with a 73, while Steve Lyon was closest to the hole on No. 12.
• Silver Oak is once again sponsoring its Friday’s Woman Social starting May 6 and running until Sept. 30.
Women of all skill levels are invited. The cost is $20 per person which includes nine holes of golf, range balls and a drink of your choice.
Check in is set for 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tee times are between 5 and 5:30 p.m.

Hala wins event
at Carson Valley
Roger Hala scored 39 to win Flight A at Carson Valley Golf Club’s individual Stableford tournament on April 17. Bob Pemberton scored 37 points and Charles Poe finished with 36.
Joe Morrison won Flight B via tiebreaker over Brick Ludington. Both players had 38 points. Fred Coons was third with a 36. Bruce Sanford won Flight C with 45 points, while Jim Arens had a 42 and Jack Zippwald 40.
Pemberton was closest to the hole on Nos. 1 and 18.
• Pemberton won Flight A at the Masters event held April 3 and 10. Pemberton scored 138 for 36 holes, edging Ron Fukuyama by one shot. Dennis Patterson was third with a 141. Coons won Flight B with a 137.
Morrison shot the same score and finished second, and Poe was third with a 142. Neil Bain won Flight C with a 149, John Guidicatti and Brent Holderman both shot 153s.

Booster tourney
The 29th annual Booster Golf Tournament, which benefits South Tahoe and Whittell high schools is May 8 at the famed Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course,
The cost is $145 which includes golf, cart and lunch.
Trophies are awarded to the top three teams in the four-man scramble event.
