Singer composer Stevie Wonder won four Grammy awards Saturday night, including Album of the Year, at the 17th annual National Academy of Record Arts and Sciences presentations.
The highest award, Record of the Year, went to Olivia Newton-John for “I Honestly Love You.” The song also won Newton-John the Best Pop Female Vocal Performance award.
Wonder, winner of five Grammys last year, won awards this year for Album of the Year and best Pop Male Vocal Performance for “Fulfillingness’ First Finade;” Best Rhythm and Blues Male Vocal Performance for “Boogie on Reggae Woman;” and the Best Rhythm and Blues song writing award for “Living in the City.”
The Song of the Year Award was presented to songwriters Marilyn and Alan Bergman and Marvin Hamlisch for “The Way We Were.” Hamlisch, who wrote the score for the Academy-Award winning movie “The Sting,” was also designated Best New Artist of the Year.
