An alarm triangle. Curry Engine Company have had manufactured a large steel triangle, designed to be sounded for meetings and fires, which they will erect upon their house today.

The Committee of Thirteen ratified. There was a large attendance last evening at the anti-Chinese meeting. The Committee of Information reported on the persons named at the last meeting as countenanced Chinese.

Much interest is being shown in the visit to Carson City of 23 distinguished women who are making a tour of the western states on behalf of national suffrage. The suffragists are traveling in a special car known as the “Suffrage Special” and are stopping at all the important cities.
70 years ago
Tentative plans were made last night for the erection in Carson City of a small hospital building to cost in the neighborhood of $50,000 and to be equipped with some $20,000 of surgical and laboratory apparatus. The project will be completed and operated by a nonprofit corporation to be formed shortly.
50 years ago
Some 250 boys between the ages of 9 and 12 will be participating in the 1966 Carson City Little League baseball season. Practice is already underway for the season which will start May 21. The league will be expanding to eight teams.

Network television viewers may have made the saga of John C. Fremont a hit, but Nevada historians gave the three-part drama only mixed reviews. “Dream West,” the seven-hour television saga of western explorer Fremont, ended with a No. 8 in the weekly network television ratings.
