Sporting expedition: A party of four gentlemen of this city, four or five days since, went on a sporting expedition to Hope Valley. As the result of their efforts, they captured, with hook and line, 800 of the funny tribe, 16 grouse, 50 snipe, 16 ducks, and any amount of rabbits, hares, and small birds. They advise their friends to visit Hope Valley when they want to hunt.

Lee Cahoon started boring the artesian well for the Nevada Central Railway at Clifton today. We shall watch the result of this well with much interest, for we have an opinion that upon artesian wells depend the success and prosperity of much of Nevada.

100 years ago

1,107 entitled to vote: Of the total new registration of voters, consisting of 953 names in Ormsby County in 1916, there were only 57 who did not designate their political party. The total number of persons registering for the primary election next Tuesday is at 1,107. A list of names will be printed for the benefit of the voters.

Boy Scout Camp Fleischmann near Westwood, Calif., has closed for the season with all boys from Carson City reporting the best time ever experienced at a summer camp.
