Youth Theatre Carson City’s production of “Legally Blonde, Jr” opened to rave reviews this past weekend at the Carson City Community Center, and we are thrilled to announce that there are three more opportunities to see our exciting production, based on the hit film starring Reese Witherspoon and the award-winning Broadway musical, August 5-7, 2016 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center.

Legally Blonde, Jr. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. Filled with humor, wit and sass, our show follows the transformation of Elle Woods, a UCLA sorority girl as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle’s high school boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, claiming she’s not “serious” enough, Elle takes matters into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate, Emmett, and spunky hairdresser, Paulette, along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren’t mutually exclusive. As Elle begins outsmarting her peers, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all.

Legally Blonde, Jr. features the talents of over 40 local youth grades K-12. Leading the cast as the unflappable Elle Woods are Rachel Wilkerson, 16, a junior at Damonte Ranch High School and Angela Cirone, 15, a sophomore at Carson High School. “When I saw the cast list, it was like a dream come true!” Cirone remarked. “I look forward to coming to rehearsal every day because I get to see my friends and do what I love.”

“We have had so much fun working on Legally Blonde, Jr. this summer,” commented Andie Anderson, Artistic Director of Youth Theatre Carson City and Director of Legally Blonde, Jr. “Every single member of our talented young cast shines on stage with such enthusiasm. I can’t wait to share all of their hard work with this community.”

Performances of Legally Blonde, Jr. will runs three more performances August 5, 6 at 7pm and August 7 at 2pm in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the Carson City Community Center located at 851 E. William Street in Carson City, NV. Tickets are $12 General Admission, $10 Students and Seniors. For tickets and information visit our website www.youththeatrecarsoncity.com.
