Judith (Judy) M. Wright

Judith (Judy) M. Wright passed away unexpectedly and prematurely following the loss of her fight with a form of Alzheimer’s disease. Born Judith Ann McCrocklin in Orlando, Florida, she was the first of three children born to James Walter McCrocklin and Elvira Dorothea (Allan) Cummins.

Judy graduated from the University of Chicago in 1967 with a degree in Near Eastern (Egyptian) Archeology. While pursuing a Masters of Education degree at George Peabody College for Teachers (now of Vanderbilt University), she met her future husband, Woody Wright. They were married in 1968 in Falls Church, VA. Judy and Woody eventually settled in Montana, where they raised their two children. They remained avid domestic and international travelers, and Judy devoted her career and personal life to helping those in need. They eventually moved to Carson City, NV in 1994, where she retired from her most recent position as Chief of the Family Health Services Bureau of the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services in 2009.

Judy is survived by her husband Frederick Woodside (Woody) Wright; her two children, Lara Wright Megless (Michael) and Morgan Wright (Maria); three granddaughters, Elena, Liliana and Clara; her mother Elvira Cummins, her sister

Patty McCrocklin Bonarrigo (Frank); niece Margo (Corey) and nephew Frank Jr; and her brother Jimmy (Janee) along with several extended family members (cousins, grandnieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law) from the Allan and Wright families.

Judy was a devout Catholic and became intimately involved with the parish wherever she lived.

A vigil in her honor will be held at the Anderson Stevenson Wilke funeral home in Helena, MT on August 26, 2016. A memorial service will take place the following morning at the Sts Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church at 10:00 AM.
