Question 1 is right for Nevada
Governor Sandoval recently came out against Question 1 for Background Checks, which is on the ballot for the November election here in Nevada. Is it disappointing? Yes. Is it unexpected? No.
The hope was after he vetoed the initiative in 2013 and spelled out a number of concerns, that if the initiative’s language was modified to address his issues, which they were, that he would support Question 1.
For us, this is a human issue and should not be politicized. Unfortunately, there seems to be a line drawn in the sand when it comes to Republican politicians/lobbyists and gun sense legislation. The majority of law abiding citizens, Republicans, Democrats, Independents, even NRA members are in favor of some sort of legislation to keep weapons out of the hands of those who are willing to do harm to others or themselves.
Current background check laws need to be enhanced to include all gun sales, with reasonable exceptions, Question 1 does just that for us in Nevada. If voted into law, Nevada would be the 19th state to enact this common sense gun legislation.
No one law will keep gun violence from happening, but to stand by and do nothing seems irrational.
With rights come great responsibility. Vote YES on ONE.

Trump treated unfairly over gun comments
It appears that the Politically Correct Police of the left wing have really gotten cheap and self-serving after Trump made a comment about the Second Amendment backers knowing how to derail Ms. Clinton’s Supreme Court nominations.
Is the left trying to convince us that Trump has called for a contracted hit? It sounded to me that Trump was just telling Americans to get out and vote against her.
How hypocritical can the Dems get? They don’t remember an Obama speech several years ago in which he said that Chicago style politics might solve some of his problems. Chicago has had some 3,500 murders there since he took office seven plus years ago.
Or, they also don’t remember that Ms. Hillary has several very mysterious, questionable deaths in her not so distant past.
Is the left that obsessed to suppress free speech by using their politically correct agenda of allowing only wordings that are in line with their ideology?
