A multi-agency operation resulted in four arrests following a drug investigation Wednesday afternoon.

Law enforcement agents from Tri-Net, Nevada Department of Investigations and Carson City Special Enforcement Team had been conducting a narcotics investigation near the area of Corbett and Moody streets.

Officers arrested one person when he showed up to the set-up drug buy. While officers were detaining the man, a second suspect saw the arrest and attempted to flee on a motorcycle. An undercover unit was in the area and hit the motorcycle to stop the driver.

Carson City Sgt. Daniel Gonzales said the second suspect was well known to police and had an extensive history of fleeing and fighting with officers, so for the safety of the community they stopped the motorcyclist best they could before he could start a high speed chase through rush hour traffic. Gonzales said the suspect still attempted to fight with police after the accident and after he was detained. he allegedly attempted to dump a small bag, filled with drugs and paraphernalia, as well as pull out a leather pouch from his sleeve while he was being detained. The rider was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The officers had attempted to gain a search warrant on a residence near the 400 block of Corbett, and while they were converging on the residence to wait for the warrant, a Toyota Corolla was leaving the residence. Officers arrested one female from inside the vehicle after finding heroin inside. Also as officers were attempting to set up a perimeter around the residence, a third male tried to flee out of the back. Deputies caught him on Marie Drive and arrested him for an outstanding warrant.

An elderly woman and an infant were inside the residence but surrendered to police immediately and were taken to an air conditioned vehicle. The elderly woman, who owned the home, gave officers permission to search the residence for any other persons and officers attempted to call out anyone else in the residence for nearly an hour before breeching the home. No one else was inside the residence.

Officials had to wait for a search warrant to look for any evidence inside the home related to their investigation. Nevada Highway Patrol was called in to conduct investigation of the motorcycle accident.

This investigation is still ongoing.
