The Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation, in conjunction with the Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department, wish to recognize individuals and groups who contribute to the vitality of the community and Carson City’s recreational environment.
The foundation is accepting nominations of individuals, organizations, and businesses to be recognized in 2016 for their contributions to the community with emphasis on efforts to support Carson City’s parks, recreation, and open spaces.
The selected names will be added to the Memorial Wall at the entrance to the Marv Teixeira Pavilion at Mills Park, followed by an awards ceremony there at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18. The categories are Organization of the Year, Business of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Volunteer of the Years.
The public is invited to send award nominations by Sept. 13 with a brief biography and reason for nomination for each nominee to FCCPR, P.O. Box 3266, Carson City, NV 89702, or via email to Dcbugli@aol.com (put “FCCPR Memorial Wall” in the subject line). A selection from the list of award nominees will be made on Sept. 21.
Others may also be remembered or recognized on the Memorial Wall. If you make a donation of $100 or more to FCCPR, it will add the name of your loved one to a section of the wall. Please provide a small biography along with the donation to the same address as above by Sept. 13.
