Dick Campagni’s Capital Ford unveiled its completely remodeled dealership Saturday. “We just want to thank my employees and customers who have made us successful throughout the years,” said Campagni during the ribbon cutting which featured Carson City dignitaries.

The Reno chapter of the Mustang Club and the Model T Club also was at the dealership, along with University of Nevada Wolf Pack mascot Alphie along with some Wolf Pack cheerleaders.

“On behalf of the city of Carson City, we are thankful of having the Campagni Auto Group in Carson City,” said Mayor Robert Crowell. “They are the first to stand up when it comes to helping out local charities and the events going on.”

The project cost “in the $2 million range” because of some unexpected challenges in the remodeling process.

“It’s an old building,” General Manager Tim Milligan said last week. “It was built in 1957 so there were some challenges there but we worked through them.”

Milligan said everything in the front of the building is new.

“We didn’t bring anything that was part of the store over and that includes technology.”

The remodeled dealership features an extended awning to accommodate an outdoor showroom for up to eight vehicles. He said it also creates a sun block that will let them keep the inside showroom at a more consistent temperature. There’s more room for the dealership’s finance and insurance offices, completely remodeled bathrooms and a customer waiting area complete with fireplace similar to the one at the Toyota dealership also owned by Campagni.

The dealership employs about 100 and “growing,” Ford officials said.
