Removal: Judge Wright has moved his headquarters to Sheriff Smith’s office, next door to the “Magnolia” Saloon, Court House building, where he can be found from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day, ready to receive, file and enter claims to town lots in Carson City. Lot owners had better be on hand, as the time for filing claims expires January 6th, after which all right to claim property under the town site law will be forfeited.

The Enterprise takes strong grounds against gambling, and remarks editorially: “Don’t make Nevada a gambling hell.” The Appeal fully agrees with the Enterprise, theoretically, as regards to gambling. When it asks the Legislature not to make Nevada a gambling hell, it overlooks the fact that it has been a gambling hell for 20 years. The men who first framed the laws, however, had enough business sense to turn the gambling mania to some practical use so that good came out of evil.

In circles close to the German embassy the peace proposals offered by Germany are said to include: the complete restoration of Belgium; evacuation by Germany of all territory in France; establishment of Poland and Lithuania as independent kingdoms as well as Bulgaria, etc.

The Stewart Braves rolled to an easy victory over the South Tahoe Vikings, 93-46 Friday evening for their 21st win in a row. Led by Thomas Smith, the Braves jumped to a 10 point lead at the end of the first quarter.

One of two life-term sex offenders who escaped from the maximum security prison Saturday night was captured in Medford, Ore., Wednesday morning after allegedly robbing a 22-year-old woman and stabbing her at least 10 times.
