Bishop Manogue bolted to a 22-0 lead and cruised to an 80-37 win over Carson Tuesday night at Morse Burley Gym.

The Miners improved to 15-0 in league play, while Carson dropped to 5-11. The Senators finish the season Friday at Douglas.

The last 6-plus minutes was played with a running clock, as the Miners got it to 72-32.

Manogue played its starters into the first two-plus minutes of the fourth quarter despite having a commanding lead.

Katie Turner led the Miners with 23 points and Malia Holt added 21.

Lindy Lehman led Çarson with 10.

Douglas upsets Mustangs

RENO — Douglas pulled out its biggest win of the season Tuesday night in a matchup of second- and third-place teams in the Sierra League race.

Douglas (8-7 league, 11-12 overall) led 23-18 at halftime and 35-32 at the end of three quarters.

The Tigers have won four of their last five games. Damonte Ranch (10-5, 14-6) was a 61-42 winner at Douglas on Jan. 22.

RENO — Douglas swarmed past the Mustangs to pick up a Sierra League victory, 75-43, Tuesday night in Reno.

The Tigers improved their Sierra League record to 8-7 (9-14 overall) and are locked into a game at Reno in the first-round of the region tournament next Wednesday. Damonte Ranch dropped to 4-11 (5-18).

Dayton edges Sparks

DAYTON — Josh Riders, playing with a heavy heart after the death of his uncle last weekend, scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and J.J. Ply added 18 points and four rebounds to lead the Dust Devils to a 55-49 come-from-behind victory on Senior Night.

Dayton finishes the season at Elko on Friday and Spring Creek on Saturday.

Marcos Leon finished with seven points and four rebounds and Tyler Peterson chipped in six points and six rebounds.

Dayton outscored Sparks 19-10 in the fourth quarter, and the Dust Devils went 11-for-17 from the line.

JV BASKETBALL

Senators win

Carson’s JV girls improved to 9-0 in Sierra League play. games with a 43-26 win over Bishop Manogue Tuesday at Morse Burley Gym.

Abbey Paulson led Carson with 19 points, Camiell Simpson added 11 and Ku’ulei Haupu chipped in nine.

Carson visits Douglas Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Miners grab win

RENO — Bishop Manogue easily handled Carson, 60-32, Tuesday night.

Dawson Lamb led Carson with 11 points.

Carson dropped to 13-10 overall and 11-4 in league play.
