Mar. 17, 1997- Feb. 8 2016
Chile Irwin Bartels was born on March 17, 1997 to Amy Jo and Jason Bartels. He was the middle child sandwiched between his two sisters, Wednesday and Willow, and the beloved grandson of Colleen Mortimer, Marshall Bartels, Judy and John Procaccini. Chile was a faithful son and was at his family’s side whenever they needed him. Chile’s BIG spirit and personality could barely be contained by his six foot, four-inch frame. He had a special gift for making his sisters laugh, and for teasing them unmercifully. The three of them loved sharing movie and Mario Kart marathons. Chile could play video games endlessly, only taking breaks when his hunger overtook him. He spent hours spray painting artwork on anything he could get his hands on and making ordinary things extraordinary. He also loved to share his passion for music with anyone close enough to listen. In his much too short eighteen years, he LIVED his life with an enthusiasm and love for so many great things, that his family is comforted by the richness of his unique journey and all the lives he touched so deeply. Chile died on February 8, 2016, leaving a gaping hole in the hearts of his family and countless friends who adored him. Chile’s Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 19th, 3:00pm at the Brewery Arts Center, Performance Hall. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is available at https://www.gofundme.com/cnnypwrg
