Only nine days more. This is the 48th day of the Legislative session; and the most essential enactments required at the hand of that body are yet to be perfected. Between the present reading and the close of the session, there are but two Sundays and one national holiday. That leaves but nine days, including today, in which to get done everything that needs to be done.

Tonight the Grand presents a most pleasant and varied program both in photo plays and vaudeville. Tonight is “The Pines Revenge,” featuring Cleo Madison, Lon Chaney, Arthur Shirley and Millard K. Wilson.

Ed Rinckel, in a letter to Ken Johnson, president of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce, suggests Carson City become the location for the United Nations Organization. “This would certainly put Carson City on the map,” said Rinckel.

Mills Park was tentatively picked last night as the site for Ormsby County’s future civic auditorium. Although the new center won’t come for years, the Fair and Recreation Board won’t start work until the Mills Park Golf Course has a new site.

Parking lots, intersections and streets became lakes, ponds and rushing streams by late Saturday as rain continued to pour on the capital city. This, one of the most severe storms of the season, caused road closures, scattered power outages and avalanche warnings at Lake Tahoe.
