Duana S. Lompa

1947 - 2016

Duana S. Lompa, 68, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Carson City on Feb. 12. She was born in Reno in 1947 and has lived in Northern Nevada her entire life. Duana married Sam Lompa in 1972. They had two children, Sam Jr. and Gregg. Duana had a huge heart and quite the sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends. Duana loved to garden, travel, maintain the family business and sold real estate. She was preceded in death by her father Everett Kraai; her mother Victoria Pradere; and her brother Victor Kirby. She is survived by her husband Sam; sons Sam Jr. (Shae) and Gregg (Mary); sisters Delinda Kinkel (Mike) and Kathy Duncan; Step-brother Mike Pradere; grandchildren Owen and Wyatt; as well as several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church at 3000 N. Lompa Ln. in Carson City at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20. Interment to follow at Walton Carson’s Gardens Cemetery with a reception at the Plaza Event Center. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
