Runaway. Mr. Joe Fulston was taking a buggy ride when the gearing of his whiffletrees got out of kilter, and the two horses he was driving became detached. The horses were frightened, bolted and ran and collided against a light wagon which was standing on Division Street. They got themselves considerably bruised.

The rink. George Richard has reduced the price of admission to the rink for gentlemen, to 25 cents, skates free. Ladies admission free, skates 25 cents.

Fire in Reno. A fire broke out in the second story of the Palace Hotel block in Reno ruining the building. The weight of the immense amount of water caused the whole mass to fall into the ground floor where the saloon gambling games and grill are situated. The Palace had been known for its scale of magnificence and was fully insured.

X-ray for fitting shoes. Fitting of shoes has been reduced to an exact science. The shoe salesman can fit a shoe without having to remove it. The salesman glances through a lens equipped with X-ray apparatus and the sources of foot trouble are revealed.

Couple honored on anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Zenas A. Walmsley of Dayton were honored on their golden wedding anniversary with a dinner for family members at Enricos. The couple was born and raised in Dayton.

Freeway. According to Nevada Department of Transportation spokesman Scott Magruder, most of the work on the new freeway has been done ahead of time. “By early-to-mid February we will open both directions of the freeway from Highway 50 East to Highway 395 North for traffic.”
