Nevada jumps out early, cruises past Air Force, 86-63

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. — Tyron Criswell scored 19 points and Nevada cruised to an 86-63 victory over Air Force on Saturday.

D.J. Fenner and Eric Cooper Jr. had 16 points apiece for Nevada (10-6, 2-2 Mountain West). Marqueze Coleman added 12 points with a career-high 12 rebounds, and Cameron Oliver chipped in 12 points with a career-best seven assists. Trevor Lyons scored 10 points to lead Air Force (10-6, 1-2), which has lost back-to-back games since snapping its four-game win streak.

Nevada had a double-digit lead midway through the first half, and closed on a 16-10 spurt to build a 44-27 halftime lead. Coleman scored seven points while Air Force shot 2 of 8 from the floor and missed four free throws during the stretch.

Lyons scored five points as part of a 9-3 surge to pull the Falcons within 14-points midway through the second half but Air Force did not get closer.

The Wolf Pack will next return to Reno, where its 6-0 this season, as Nevada takes on Boise State Wednesday at 7 p.m.

NOTES: Nevada has now surpassed last season’s win total of nine... Nevada now leads 5-2 in the season series against the Falcons... Five players had double-digit scoring totals for the Wolf Pack, the ninth time this season Nevada has had four or more players with double-figure scoring totals...Criswell’s 19 points was his eighth double-digit scoring game and the second time leading the Pack in scoring in 2015-16... Oliver recorded his second career double-double after posting 12 points and 12 rebounds. Oliver was one board shy of tying his career-high in rebounds but set a new personal-best in conference play, topping his previous high of nine rebounds set against New Mexico (Dec. 30).

Oliver finished in double-figures in rebounds for the fourth time, led the team for the seventh time and had the game-high in boards for the fifth time this season...Coleman set a new career-high with eight rebounds in the win. Coleman filled the stat sheet with seven assists, four steals and finished in double-figures for the ninth game in a row and 14th time this season with 12 points..
